Dr. Lana Garmire, Ph.D.

Lana Garmire is currently a tenured Associate Professor in the Dept of Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics, and affiliated faculty of Biostatistics and Biomedical Engineering at U Michigan. Her translational bioinformatics research areas include single cell bioinformatics, multi-modal data integration of complex diseases using genomics, imaging and EMR data, and drug reposition. She has published over 80 papers in top quality journals including Cell, Nature series, which she contributed as the senior corresponding author in the majority of them. She delivered over 70 invited talks to institutes including National Library of Medicine (NLM) and National Academy of Sciences (NAS). She has served on various NIH study sections and currently a standing member of BDMA study section. She is on the editorial advisory board for Genome Biology and Journal of Proteome Research. She is an awardee of US Presidential Early Career Scientists and Engineers in 2019 and an elected fellow of Class 2022 by American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). The research in her group has been continuously funded by NIH over the past decade.
